I had the pleasure of dining with friends at Inner Oaks a few times last summer. I have to say it was such a delightful and warming experience learning about fresh herbs, vegetables and how to cook with them. We started the morning off by picking the fresh herbs and veggies needed for the recipe of choice for that day. While picking, Laura was explaining each herb and the use for them. We then gathered at the outdoor kitchen to start preparing the food. This was the fun part of the day, learning new techniques on how to cut veggies and when to add the herbs. Laura's easy to understand explanations gave you the confident to want to try cooking, especially on the day we made homemade pasta. It was such an inspiring experience, I went out and bought a pasta maker myself.
We ate outside overlooking the Quinan River, which was peaceful and simply beautiful. Laura, truly takes a lot of pride in her work and it shows, the grounds are simply amazing, plus her love for cooking. I would recommend this experience to anyone who is interested in learning how to cook with fresh goods and who just wants to take it all in on a beautiful estate over looking the river. Laura, herself, is sweet, kind and sure knows how to provide the best culinary experience one could ever ask for. Go look her up, you won’t be disappointed! - Karla
