Engage your senses at Inner Oaks on this culinary herb and lunch experience! Walk the garden nurseries; as you connect with the herbs and edible flowers, hear insights on their care and uses. Prepare a seasonal lunch, using freshly harvested herbs with other ingredients. Enjoy your creation riverside!

Available:

First Wednesday of every month, May through October, from 10 am to 2 pm.

Price:

$86.00 per person + HST. Includes guided tour, herb harvesting, culinary class in Inner Oaks outdoor kitchen, and lunch. Due to the types of experiences that take place at Inner Oaks, in Quinan, NS, our exact address will be provided when you book. We strive to maintain a quiet, peaceful, and reflective space to minimize any potential disruptions.

Experience Includes:

Enjoy a guided walk through the Inner Oaks garden-nurseries: including herbs, edible flowers, and berries with well-known, local foodie host, Laura Muise.
Learn growing and harvesting insights on culinary herbs, the care they need, and how to harvest and store. Oregano, thyme, sage, tarragon, basil, cilantro, lemon balm, mint, just to name a few.
Engage your senses to taste, gather, and smell fresh herbs and edible flowers, while watching for the diversity of life that calls these gardens home, like various birds, butterflies, and bees.
Create a delicious, seasonal lunch in the outdoor kitchen. Have fun and get hands-on with your guide as we transform herbs and other seasonal ingredients into flavourful and thoughtful dishes! Every experience is different, designed to your taste.
Savour your culinary creation as you dine on the covered veranda, over-looking the scenic Quinan River along our cobblestone walkway, amongst the grapevines.

Good to Know:

We ask all our guests to bring comfortable flat footwear for the tour of the nursery.
Our experience runs rains or shine. Please bring an umbrella or rain gear if rain is in the forecast.
Space for this experience is a limit of ten people. All ages welcome!
We have many herbs, berries and flowers on the property that bees and other insects and pollinators enjoy!
If you have any allergies, please bring all necessary medications.
Your experience also includes access to the Inner Oaks unique gift shop.

Cancellation Policy:

All experiences are to be paid in full upon booking. We accept e-transfer. Cancellations can be made up to 48 hours in advance prior to the event for a refund, excluding a $15 service fee. After the 48 hours the service fee increases to $25 and a refund will be issued for the remainder. If the experience is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances a full refund will be issued. (Excluding the lavender experience - this has no service fee and a full refund will be offered upon cancellation)
